Desire Luzinda Foundation endeavors to unleash the potential of children, youth and disadvantaged working generations to succeed in life through providing education, specialised créche, healthcare, livelihood skills, community services, child and gender development
Desire Luzinda Foundation strives to create a future where youth and other capacities are able to facilitate their own development working in program areas that directly involve and benefit community members.
These include, Youth Entrepreneurship, Micro financing, promotion of environment and agricultural development, Youth empowerment, capacity building, mentorship, grassroots community mobilization and awareness, technology, lobbying and research.
Through the Founder, Ms. Desire Luzinda, a transitioned inspiring artiste and goodwill ambassador, DLF began its operations by assisting local girls at Uplift Children’s Center in Lungujja Kampala, a remote area in Central Uganda. For many years, she has been single handedly organizing outreaches to collect and donate items such as scholastic materials, beddings and food to this orphanage to which Ms. Desire is their PATRON.
Since then, DLF has worked continuously with the communities through projects of education, livelihood, agriculture and cultural exchange. It has also developed an international network of experienced, professional, local and international staff well placed to partner with finding bodies, partners and other collaborating service providers.
Desire Luzinda Foundation’s emphasis is on community participation and leadership which helps community members work together, own the achievements facilitated by their programs and sustain positive change.
